About Us:
During our meetings we teach investment strategies including but not limited to option trading, shorts, and regular stock investing. In addition, we go through how the market has moved over the past week, and how we think it will change in the days following the meeting. The LTHS Young Investors Society is a great place to not only learn how to invest, but to learn about the markets and put those skills to use in our real time market simulator run by Fidelity. If you are at all interested in the stock market and learning how to invest, this is the place for you.
Benefits:
If you are looking to increase your savings but don't have time for a job for whatever reason; learning to invest is a great way to earn a passive income and make extra money without the time commitment required by a job.
If you are a member of DECA participating in the Stock Market Game, not only is the LTHS Young Investors Society a valuable resource to improve your competitive ability, it is a great place to practice and try out new investment strategies.
Future Goals:
Over the course of the next year we hope to travel to an annual shareholder meeting for a company based in the greater Austin area. This would allow our members to experience parts of what a career in finance would encompass and to learn more about industry in and around their community.
